Covers the AOD-E Transmission found in many domestic Ford and Mercury vehicles including the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car models.

The 4R70W transmission found in the 1995 to 2003 Crown Victoria & other Ford models has the same internal parts as the AOD-E, except for the gear ratios. You can use this manual to rebuild the 4R70W transmission, just remember the that any references to the gear ratios are correct for the AOD-E only.

Note: There have been many engineering changes in this transmissions since its introduction. ATSG also has an "Update Handbook" (83-AODE-UPDATE) which includes the many changes and is recommended for proper overhaul or repair.
